America hasn’t always been a land of ever-increasing taxes. One of the pioneers in tax cutting was JFK. The cuts he implemented caused a decisive turn in the economy and brought down unemployment. Later cuts by Reagan and, to a lesser extent, Bush had similar effects. What can politicians today learn from earlier tax cuts?

Governor Chris Christie is turning out even better than most conservatives had hoped. His budget cuts are going to reduce spending overall. He’s also adamant about not raising taxes. It all comes at a price from union leaders and other beneficiaries of the establishment…a price well worth paying.

Obama is suddenly worried about debt. Since we elect leaders to Congress and the White House, one might think they have the power to cut spending. Evidently, that’s a common misconception. A debt commission wouldn’t reduce spending though. It will only raise taxes.
